Applying to a business school can be an extensive process. The admissions and records department have to be selective with their applicants and therefore look at a variety of factors to determine whether or not you qualify for the university and program of your choice. Preparation can save you from being placed in the rejection pile.
How does a business school determine if I stand out from other applicants?
One way is the GMAT. Another is your GPA, or Grade Point Average, from your previous educational background. If you have a GPA under 3.5, you must rely on other glitter-and-sparkle on your resume such as a requested essay in order to be accepted.

What can I do to improve my application?
Get some solid recommendations! Recommendation letters are used by both students seeking a college and employees seeking employment. Most colleges prefer to have two recommendation letters. They may be written by previous instructors, employers, or other professionals that know you well.
When do I apply for a business school?
Apply as soon as possible. Business schools typically have several rounds of applications and deadlines; be prepared to meet these scheduled times ASAP. If you apply during the first round, there are more spots available than the third round, when the majority of the students have been accepted.
Do business schools conduct interviews?
Some do, and some do not. Interview procedures vary from school to school. Some schools may interview every applicant, while others may only review selected applicants. Still others will conduct no interviews at all, relying entirely on the essay submitted.
